A little about me
Environmental data science, informed by the people who know a place.
I study how people, places, and ecological systems shape one another. My research brings together environmental data science and community knowledge to ask a simple question: how can our cities become more resilient, equitable places to live? In the classroom and in the field, I am drawn to thoughtful questions, open collaboration, and research that makes a difference beyond the university. This is a fictional academic profile. Northfield University, the appointments, courses and research below are illustrative; none represents a real institution or verified scientific result.
Research interests
Urban resilience. How everyday access to shade, water and green space shapes a neighborhood’s capacity to adapt.
Community-led methods. Participatory mapping and listening sessions that treat local knowledge as part of the research process.
Environmental data. Readable, reproducible ways to connect field observations with environmental measurements.

The living city
A fictional neighborhood study of shade and shared green spaces. Walk-along interviews and seasonal temperature observations help frame questions about who benefits from urban greening. The example illustrates a mixed-methods project; no measured findings are claimed.
